The life we will remember

I went to Japan, three weeks ago.
It changed my life. :)

Yeah yeah yeah I always said that everytime I came back from a trip. Every trips change my life. True. I’m a drama queen. A drop of water could change my life. Lol.

But this trip is different! Bandi has always been my travel buddy since….. Forever. And this time I didn’t travel with him. I travel with my three best friends.

You might know them from this post and this post and so many of other posts.
They’re my partners in crime, my soul sisters, my annoying friends.

For the sake of travel blog information, I would talk about the trip itself and the highlight.

1. Fuji-san
I went to Fuji on summer and it was climbing season! We met soon many people dressed in climbing gears about to conquer Fuji-san. It was exciting just to see them excited.

Angel and Renny were at Fuji-Q-Highland about to conquer their own version of Fuji, called Fujiyama – the king of roller coaster.

I’m not a daredevil so I chose to cycle around Lake Kawaguchiko. (Newsflash: I don’t enjoy going onto Roller Coasters or any daredevil things. Whatever has happened in the past were either stupidity or curiosity. XD)

Isn't it pretty?

Isn’t it pretty?

I cycled for about 2.5 hours until I hurt my bum, then I stopped in a park to watch people. Couples snuggling, kids playing baseball with their parents, dogs running around, tourist exhausted and needs a break (that’s me!)

Pretty Katsuyama

And then I dozed off for about 15 minutes. Power nap! And continued with selfie sessions!

Fun time, beautiful place. :)

Well, what about Renny and Angel? After queuing for 2 hours, they went through this:

Epic face, Renny!!!

2. Tokyo
Omg!!! I fell in love with Tokyoooooo!!! Did I tell you that London had an amazing personality as city? Well… Tokyo is her bff. In my imagination, London and Tokyo are two bff with amazing personality, Paris is also their friend, the bitchy one. Lol

3. Shirakawa-Go
I LEFT MY HEART THERE.
Just beautiful. Just beautiful! When I travel, my favorite part is to go somewhere far away from city buzz, and Shirakawa-Go is just beautiful… beautiful… I lost words….

Photos incoming!

I made a simple video for our Shirakawa-Go Trip!

P.S. for my three girls: Never forget our epic moment in the cafe with the guitar and a girl asked for our photo! 10 years from now we will laugh our asses off again remembering this!

4. Kyoto
Well, as I already hooked up with Tokyo, no other city could amaze me more. But Kyoto has this feeling, especially when you’re in Gion and we saw a real Geisha!!!!
It felt like we were “kena pelet” by the Geisha inside the car!

It was raining when we went to Arashiyama, but it didn't stop us! :D

Our last lunch together in Osaka before one by one heading home. :(

I guess those 4 is the highlight.

I didn’t mention technical part of the trip because things might always change. My suggestion is to google! :)

And here’s another cute video to close the trip!

Fun facts about Japan:

  1. They broadcast different sounds in train station, for example in Tokyo we heard birds singing in the station, for Takayama we heard some kind of fun fair themed sound in the train.
  2. JR Pass is very useful
  3. Kids playing OUT in the park on weekends. A kind of thing I rarely see. :”)
  4. There is actually people who will steal your underwear. My host told me not to dry your underwear outside.
  5. We know Japanese toilet is awesome, but there is one button that amazed me. “Privacy” button that will create sounds to cover your poop sounds. Lololol
  6. Japanese people take a bow to each cars in the train and when the bus is leaving the bus stop.
  7. There is no place like Japan…. Look how grateful they are, how they always strive for perfection. I think we all should learn to be more like Japanese people. :)

Soo…. When people asked me “how was Japan?” it’s really hard to answer…

We saw two Maikos! Seeing Maiko is considered good luck, we met two! We hiked in Shirakawa-go for the best beef we’ve ever tasted. We sang and danced like no one was watching. We were mistakenly thought as celebrities, this was super epic! We were asked to take photos many times when we were on our yukata which was fun to have such attention! #attentionhooker We jumped into Onsen, we met so many nice people, we missed trains, we got lost, we were soaked wet in the rain, but in the end… what we only remember is… WE HAD FUN. :)
And for closing, please enjoy our video clip of Avicii Song: The Nights.
I’m so proud of my video editing skill! :D go watch! (This video might be unavailable on mobile phone due to copyright issue, so if you have time watch it on laptop – with sounds!)
Cheers,

Best Day Ever (Part 1)

I don’t know where to start… I’m so overwhelmed with this great feeling. So many nice gestures from friends, so many efforts and so many love from everybody. And for the hundredth times, I’m telling the world this: I have the best bridesmaids in the world.

… and the best groom, of course.

The journey began exactly 24 hours before “I do”

I had just arrived at Bandung Airport and I straightaway gave up my luggage to Renny, my bridesmaid whom already waited for me at the gate. Bandi and I took Gery’s motorcyle (Gery is one of the groomsman) and Bandi rode the bike like craaaaazy because our appointment was at 12 pm and it was already 12 pm when we started to move. 15 minutes later we arrived at the church and thankfully the father was okay with us being late. (The father who would be marrying us was famous to be the fiercest among them all. :p)

We did rehearsal for a while and then we were heading to the hotel to check in. And then the first drama began… We got a mix cancellation email from Changi Airport about some of the liquor orders from us. Long story short, Bandi solved the problem.

The second drama would be Ricky arriving at the airport later and forgot to bring his Indo number so he texted us late, and we drove back to hotel again to pick him up.

There were some family drama involved after this, but yadda-yadda-yadda… Anyhowww, we all arrived at Burgundy (the venue of the wedding dinner) at last!!! It was about 7 pm when we started to decorate the venue, the tiffany chairs, the chalkboard and everything. We also managed to rehearse our grand entrance and “treasure dance”.

12 hours before “I do”

Bandi and I had a big fight in the hotel that involving door-slamming and bridesmaids+groomsmen panicking. Come to think of it, it was so silly. We were probably stressed so we had a super bad mood. Anyway, it was part of the drama too. LOL.

5 hours before “I do”

I woke up too early, maybe because I was excited. I went down with Renny to have breakfast and then started the make-up and dress-up thingy, and then… the time was starting to crawl closer and closer to the moment!!!

My sister kept bugging me while I was having my make up.

And then…. the time has come! We all were ready to move!!!

Start from this, I could explain to you by pictures… However all pictures were taken fully by phones/non-SLR camera, so don’t expect too much. I haven’t got the pro-pictures.

Let's do this!!!!

And then the sweetest thing happened… He gave me a letter. It was a love letter with a writing on the envelope “To my bride to be…”

He asked me to read it privately so I walked further down a little bit and read it. Somebody snapped the moment though.

:")

:”)

Oh isn’t he just the sweetest… I lost words of how I should thank him for everything… He has been a wonderful boyfriend, awesome fiance and now… he’s my husband… I can’t believe this… So surreal. :)

And then... showtime!!!

And then… showtime!!!

The moment we said “I do”

That's me being nervous and Bandi being excited.

Anyway I didn’t walk down the aisle alone or with my dad beside me. After the talk with Father Bogartz, we decided to walk down the aisle together, as a symbol for Bandi and me being equal. Nobody was being given away or being taken away from any family. It was two persons’ decisions to walk down the aisle together. :)

Heck yeah, I do!!!

And then we kissed!!!! =)

Hip Hip Horray!!!

I still haven’t got any more photos, so that’s it for the church wedding now. Will upload more in part.2

3 Hours after “I do”

While I was panicking and fingercrossing in the cottage, my bridesmaids and groomsmen were working their asses off to make sure Bandi and I had our dream wedding.

They didn’t let me come out from the cottage, and I was under a heavy-make-up-construction that time (LOL) so all I could do was waiting.

And look what they did. :)

Everything on that table belongs to me and Bandi. I always felt weird coming to people’s wedding who put some stuffs on the entrance table that didn’t really connect with them, such as bird cages, old typewriters, just because they’re cute and vintage. No offense, but by looking at this table, you know it’s about me and Bandi. The globe, the train tickets, all the photos, foreign coins, our love letters when we were on LDR, our first mixed-CD, everything from our 8 years journey together. We wanted people who came to the wedding went through the memories lane. =)

7 Hours after “I do”

And then the party began… We started by calling the family into the dining area, and once all the guests seated, this video was being played…

And then… SHOWTIME!!!

And the details will be on part 2. Lol

(… To be continued…)

Peace out,

May, still swoon over the moon.

Friendships are like wine.

As usual, every Thursday I dig in old photos for the Throwback Thursday. This is something that I’ve been doing since twitter had #followfriday. I’m a soc-med whore (it’s not a secret) so I like to do this kind of thing. Throwback Thursday is my favorite of all hashtag in instagram, because it made me dig old memories and I love reminiscing old memories. =)

This morning I opened one of my dropbox folder named “Seraphine Hangover”. It was full of inappropriate blurry photos but I managed to find the most decent one.

This one.

This is the most decent photo I could find. =)

The two girls with me are my bridesmaids and the three guys are the unofficial chauffeur for the wedding. :p

This photo was taken on September last year, not so long time ago. It was just a casual hangout with my best buddies in Jakarta. Everytime I come back to Jakarta, we always hang out together, some ended without voice because we sing like there’s no tomorrow in the karaoke room, some ended with endless KFC chicken in our tummies, some ended up drunk.

The photo above doesn’t represent the full team of my best buddies. Let me give you another photo:

Here!

Wait, wait... this is a very old old OLD photo. :p

Wait, wait… this is a very old old OLD photo. :p

This might do!

This might do! Don’t mind Bandi. :p

So yeah, we’re best buddies. We all hate and love each other at the same time. We’ve fought, we’ve made up, we aren’t always together but when we meet, we rock on!

We’ve been friends since kindergarten. Yap! It’s been… what?! 20 years of friendship??? Holy moly!!!

We got very very close when we were in the fifth grade and then during our junior high we’ve written a diary together. There were 13 diaries in 3 years school-span. And trust me, everytime I read those diaries, I would crack my butt up for laughing too hard!!! LOLOLOL. How stupid we were. LOLOLOL

I watched a movie “Las Vegas” last Wednesday, it was about 4 best buds who have been friends since they were kids and they’re still friends in their sixties.

Bandi and I went to Bandi’s bestfriend’s wedding last Saturday. We went to Palembang for one day just to attend the wedding. After the wedding we hung out and Bandi could always act like a kid around his bestfriends. They don’t see each other so often but when they do, it’s just so cute seeing them calling each other names.

Anyway, what I was about to say is…

I just can’t imagine how my life would be without my friends. They’re like my family, my brothes and my sisters. We’ve been through so many things yet we’re still friends. No matter if we’re rich, poor, ugly, pretty, fat, skinny, no matter what race we are, no matter whom we love or what we’re doing, and no matter what we turned out to be, we are still friends. We were friends before we knew money, before we even got our period, before all the ugliness in the world tried to invade.

Just hanging out all night, singing our hearts out with one guitar.

We just love to sing!

We just love to sing!

It was probably Avril's or Kelly Clarkson's song.

I love every one of them. =)

Friendships are like wine, the older the better.

(and also, they make you drunk. LOLOLOL)
